The company was established in 1981 in Toronto, Canada by HEIDER FUNCK, well known Canadian sailmaker and successful regatta sailor. ULTRA MARINE was created to market some of the products Heider had successfully established and produced.
The most successful one is the ULTRA FURL furling system of which several thousand have been sold in Canada and world wide.
Then there is the ELECTRA SPORT. From Heider's concept idea, to designing, building molds and the finished boat ready to race the Electra became an instant success. A license production commenced in Switzerland where until today some 50 Electras have been built.
Other products are ULTRA CRUISE safety Vests and harnesses and Ultra Cruise bosun chair. Thousands of these were sold and they were rated # 1 in it's group by " Practical Sailor" Magazine.
